After a 36 year break in their performing career, The Four Townsmen from Canonsburg, PA were reunited in 1999 to be honored at the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in Sharon, PA.

Their career started in high school in 1959 doing record hops in the tri-state area with well known Dee Jays like Porky Chedwick, Clark Race, and Terry Lee.

They recorded regional hits; “Sometimes (When I’m All Alone)” and “It Wasn’t So Long Before (Graduation Is Here)”, on Art-Flow Records in 1962.

These two songs can be found on Pittsburgh’s Greatest Hits Volume III and Volume VII. Highlights of their career were performing with Paul Anka in Atlantic City, Bryan Hyland, The Letterman and more recently with Johnny Maestro, Kenny Vance and the Planotones, and Jerry Butler at the Mellon Arena.

The two original members of the group still performing are Lou Gadani and Pete Kouklakis. Lead singer, Chuck Marshall passed away in 1985. Bobby Kraushaar, the original Baritone retired from perfoming with the group several years ago.

Eric Bruce, the group’s new lead singer, was recruited to join the group and has been a great asset and talent.

Pete “I got the beat” Povich of
WJPA is the fourth member of the group. Together, they perform all the great classics of the 50’s and 60’s and are booked steady in the tri-state area at festivals, concerts, and county fairs.

They recently recorded three CD’s: “Reunited” , “Just Cruisin”, and “Under the Mistletoe” which highlights their smooth harmonies of the DooWop era.

Today The Four Townsmen Show Band includes Eric Bruce Sr. on lead vocals, Pete Povich on baritone vocals, Pete Kouklakis on tenor vocals, Lou Gadani on bass vocals, Rob Throckmorton on drums & percussion, Bill McWreath  on keyboards, Milt Barney on saxophone, Ray Margiotta on guitar & vocals, & John Marcishak on bass & vocals. John also doubles in the role as musical director for the group.

The Four Townsmen Show Band solidly entertains with a mix of old, new, funny & ( sometimes a little blue). Music & comedy with a touch of class and a whole lot of fun. Catch our act sometime soon, you will have a good time.
